They Call it “Modern Living”

as they rise up to the sky

colourful boxes in formation

thirty or fourty miles high

You would definately call it colourful

You could also call it cosy

You could even call it sardine-like

as you give your neighbours a nosy

Some like the format of it all

as they talk to the neighbours ‘cross the way

but some don’t like the shadows

its night in the middle of the day

Balconies round a patch of green

which after sundown, isn’t often seen

watching the clouds pass in the sky

and seeing the odd bird fly by

Moon Man

Salford 12th September 2018

#promptuarium #Visitor

visitor.jpg

When the men from the rocket

landed on the moon

they weren’t expecting

a reception committee

The locals hadn’t seen Astronauts

and invited them to tea

they looked a little different

but acted like you and me

And they helped the men collect

rocks and soil from the ground

as the bosses from earth

wanted to know – if there was life around

And after the ‘nauts had left for home

the moon people to earth would go

to learn about their next door neighbours

in their fancy UFO

Fence

Fence
For years, a defining line for who owns what

each individual tending their side of it

never forgetting of course to

converse with the neighbours next door

everybody keeping their patch of green tidy
