In response to the What do you see? prompt

Its like the words flew off the page

as they drew a picture

of a pirate and his crew

searching a far off island

on the search for buried treasure

and as i tell the tale

two little heads, play peek a boo

under the bedroom quilt….

Time for Bed?

Aye Aye Captain…..

Just another day

#Napowrimo #paperswans #children

Picking up post for Mum and dad

and reading a chapter a day

Helping doing the washing

and putting it away

one hundred and one little things to do

whilst i’m away from school

playing games with nanna

watching granddad play the fool

and i’ve pegged out all my teddies clothes

so they’ll be as snug as a bug

this afternoon i’ll be dressing them

and giving them a great big hug

An ink explosion

#octpowrimo #ifiwereyou

opinion is a wonderful thing

but after you’ve vented your spleen

across two pages of finest vellum

re read, recollect your thoughts, and rewrite

for once you’ve stuck it in the envelope

and it’s journeyed to the news paper

a different edition of who you are

will be plastered over the letters page

and though you won’t see them

all eyes will turn on you

On the Edge

Edge

image

Its a dangerous thing being a postmark –

pressed down on envelopes by the postmaster.

Your message lost by the recipient …

all they are interested in are the contents,

and after they have them…you end up in recycling.

but day after day you appear on the stamps,

hanging by the address of your crest for dear life.

Only to meet certain doom as the envelope

tumbles into the nearest steel bin

every day, you pray for a stamp collector

but enjoy the drop through the letterbox.

A temporary daredevil

do you like living on the edge ?
