Challenge 30 – No10

Food, Home, Photography

Food…..or should I say Foooood!

I could be some time with this particular part of the challenge !(sic)

I mean where to begin – I’m a bit of a foodie. I enjoy my food – not just the meats but the pasta and vegetables as well. Christmas time sees a smorgasbord of delights, from Spiced Ham to cheesy pasta bakes – not forgetting of course Christmas pudding and Battenburg Cake

My Nephews are partial to a bit of Jelly and custard at Christmas, and for the adults aside from the Christmas pud, there’s usually the Content for a trifle on the go. But this year they helped make something really special – a tray of gingerbread men…now I don’t know if any of them escaped the Christmas table but one or two of them definitely did a disappearing act…

A Food acrostic – not to be confused with the game you throw a ball at 🙂

Sealed up in the big plastic bag

Kept in your travel case

Is a multitude of flavour – A rainbow of taste

Tastebuds tingle, at the very

Thought of flavours

Like Lemon, strawberry, Lime, Orange and Blackcurrant

Each little sweet, exploding with flavour

Sensational

Caper

Harry Ramsdens, Old Trafford, Manchester

one saturday afternoon in May

mum and dad are down at little sisters – so here i am

eating a plate of cod and chips in the sunlight of a Manchester Summer

Haddock cant beat this combination

over the fish the tartar sauce goes

my tastebuds going wild for the tang

expectations going haywire

Hey – there was something there – unexpected

out of that lemony zing – a salty blast

maybe its being by the canalside – but then

even the restaurant cat knows – chef has added capers to his sauce

A lemon, sliced – at Food for thought, BASIC, Salford – B.F Kirkham 2017

The humble lemon,

like its siblings the orange and lime

each segment is full of cells just

bursting with juice

as the fruit knife cuts through the peel to the zesty core

each cell in its way bursts – releasing

fresh lemon zest into the air

while drops of lemon fall onto fresh marble

Brain and Spinal Injury Centre, Salford

17th February 2017

…Following last weeks close up food shots, we continued the theme with a heap of vegetables to produce some wonderful still life artwork.  The vegetables were set on a Square slate and against a marble backdrop

No Auto today!  each picture was taken manually – with me setting up angles and close ups of the food stuffs.

Camera used was my able Bridge camera : Sony DSC H-300 with zoom.  Great camera with some wonderful zoom functions.
