Burnt Sienna

Salford, 15th September

#CYW #BurntSienna

I recall a leather chair

the smell of it as I sat in it in the morning

it’s sound as I got my back into its folds

it squeaked – like a mouse looking for food

Looking out beyond the glass

in a warm seat

looking out for snowmen

beyond the garden fence

Sitting there quietly

watching the snowflakes

fall to the ground

whilst warming my hands on a hot mug

Curious

#fowc #fandango #curious #cat #kitten #wool

Ball of wool, red

Curiosity might be what killed the cat, but

up halfway on the stairwell

rolling about in grandma’s knitting

is a furry little fellow

on a hunt for the big woollen ball

up high of the pyramid

sat in the basket

Moving in

#insects #spider #bugs #autumn #winter

When the deciduous trees decide to lose their leaves

six legged creatures try their best to find somewhere warm

scurrying quickly over gravel and soil

and leaving a trail over branches that coil

sometimes hanging around the garden shed

or inside a cupboard that’s darkened instead

Old House

#promptuarium #House

Old man sits

in his burgundy robe

looking around his ill gotten gains

Behind him – the picture of some

Ancestor from long ago – who’s

Real estate has served the family well, both at home and

Overseas….he’ll live

Nicely on the proceeds of the stuff brought from underground

Spiders in the house

#spiders #web #house

22nd June 2018

an acrostic from inkdrop

from a prompt from the imaginarium

sometimes I wonder why they’re there

popping up from out of the garden and setting up in the kitchen

i get the idea, these six legged fellows don’t like the cold…

desperate, they’ll weave their webs in hidden spaces, like

every cubby hole or stair cupboard

Resident, until cleared out with a head of a brush

Territory

Salford, 15th November 2017

In response to the daily post prompt

Territory

A Tortoiseshell Kitty Cat

Tortoiseshell tom surveys his patch of green

even the dogs know to stay off this lawn

royal rumbles await any interloper

rounding on the garden

its all his – and every night he lets you know

taking on those who’d want to mark their place

on his little kingdom

right now though – this little prince is

yelling at the front door….he wants his lunch!!!!

Little Ghost II

Ghost

Good Gravy!  It’s cold – said the wolf to his chums

Home’s where we should be, where its not so glum – So

Over to the old haunted house they to go as their

Shivering and eerie forms they glow

Tonight they’ll meet up with their friend for some tea

(and fly around the top of the house for free)

Inhabit

Inhabit

Living in holes

in the side of a

very high mountain

in warmth and out of the cold

northern wind – was only

going to be the start

Logs pulled to ground in an

Instant – and bound together with rope made from

Vines provided shelter and

Instant relief from the wall of rain

Notably

Green from the leaves

Yummy Fruit!

Satisfaction

A response to the Daily post Weekly Photo Challenge

A Tangerine for Elevenses

When they are around, when i’m heading for BASIC I always take a Tangerine (or two)with me for the break period during the photography class.  I like fruit, but Tangerines more, because of the way they fit in the hand and are easy to Peel!

They are also less messy than another of my Favourites , Oranges…(see below)

Three of my Favourite Fruits

I like oranges, particularly the juice.  But also sliced up and served with a dash of sugar.

Apples are great any time of the year, but if I had to pick a favourite I prefer green to red

When the greengrocer can get them, I also enjoy Kiwi fruit – you cant eat the skin but this fuzzy haired fruit has a really lovely taste

They say you should have five a day – but the fruit is nice any time of the day.bananaAnother fruit I enjoy are Bananas.  Any time of the Day.  either as part of Breakfast, or as a pudding after lunch or tea….Normally seen eaten by me tween two slices of Warburton’s Wholemeal – with or without the addition of chocolate spread 🙂

Also nice covered in custard, or in a cake – or a mix of the two 🙂 Apologies for the last pic not being here – I scoffed the evidence (Hee Hee!)

Fence

Fence
For years, a defining line for who owns what

each individual tending their side of it

never forgetting of course to

converse with the neighbours next door

everybody keeping their patch of green tidy
