Crown

#writephoto #crown

Sat atop the hill of wheat

Circle of stone sits on throw of green

Ancient throne perhaps ?

Regal walk through a field of gold

A crowning glory

Before harvest time

Somethings Brewing…..(Photo prompt from Sue Vincent)

#beyondthestorm #writephoto

Something told you it wasn’t going to be a

Terrific idea to venture onto the hills today, but

Of course you were out voted – as you and your pals

Rambled up the public footpath, seeking out paradise –

Maybe you could discuss what you found in that shelter – Atop the hill

Surmount

#fowc #surmount #hill #challenge #health

It’s a hill i didn’t want to climb

notably rocky in some places

but with a little encouragement

and some would say

sheer bloodymindedness

I found myself in an ascent

ignoring the drop below

and heading for the summit

Repercussions

#Fowc #Repercussions

At the end of the chaos

you stood there, smiling

never considering what would happen

pushing the big oil drum

down the rocky, snow-covered hill

people below ran for cover

not from the oil drum making its way

but the increased snow heading in front of its path

Grasp

Grasp

Salford (via Cumbria), 14th March 2018

going uphill on the

rocky sharp surfaces of a cliff

arms stretched out, reaching for the nearest

safe hand hold, clinging on as you ascend to the

pinnacle….enjoy the view when you get there

Ascend

Ascend

A top of a

Small hill can feel like Mt everest to a small child

Conquering the challenge of

Elevating themselves so far, from

North South East and West – they can see all around them

Descending might take a bit longer – but first take in the view

Warp and Weft

Yarn

Salford, 22nd May 2017

A tale of Northern Mills

From north to south

and from east to west

crafty threads combine

on warp and weft

Coming from the animal

from out on the hill

and carded and threaded

and spun till wheels still

Or straight from the plant

coming over the sea

and landed at dockside

with the coffee and tea

then dyed in the colour

and sent onto mill

where fabrics created

from the thread from the hill

Take it from me – its a big thing

Relying on the guys keeping anchor at the top of the rocky mountain

Until you dropped down over the basalt edge

Something bit at you – should I believe this lot

Till you realised – they’re holding the rope you’re tied to.
