Footprints on wet mud

Camping out in the wilds, has its disadvantages

As the weather can be particularly nasty

Making your way across the field to the washroom as

Persistant little raindrops land on your head

If you gave it some thought – you would have moved the tent

Now everyone will know who disturbed their sleep – as you’re

Going to leave a trail – right up to your tent!

The Journey

Poetry

#writephoto #thejourney

Salford (via Rochdale and Oldham), 17th August 2019

A Walker on a hill.

a tale of a rambler , by inky for the writephoto challenge

He went a walk with an empty backpack and staff

off to get a loaf of bread

many hadn’t heard from him for days, some

even thought him dead

For his boot prints went on and on

for what others saw as miles

past footpath and valley , hill and dale

and spot of nature where he’d stay a while

enjoying the fine weather

the silence and peace

and wildlife around him

it was a release

Drawing a scene half way up a hill

taking in sunshine and cup o’ tea till

time came to face his fate

coming back home far too late

Tide

Beach, Poetry

Tide

The tide is coming in

its wiping out the deftly deposited footprints

down shore

enveloping them in sea water

The tide is coming in

its tempting little toes

daintily dancing down the sand to

enter its cool waters

The Tide is coming in

its cartwheeling shells in its waves and

depositing them on the

edge of the dry bit of the beach

footprints-in-sand.jpg

Four sets of feet walking in line on the beach

As you follow the line of footprints

Patterns begin to emerge

as footprints snake from east to west

smaller feet seemingly running rings around the big ones

but as we reach the end of the walk

these little feet disappear

washed away by northern water ? – No!

on their way to Fish and Chips

a little one has had his pips

his battery – is a little whacked

so Grandad has given him a piggyback.

Footprints in the Snow

Acrostic, Growing up, Places, Weather, Winter, writing

Footsteps

Footprint.png

Falling snow, covers the ground

Over hills and more – wind is only sound

On a patch of land – some Y shaped feet

Towards a pond coming down the street

Perhaps they’re on a hunt for some food

Rallying in number – Not being rude

In parallel cyclists head through the snow

Navigating the way to the warmth the go

Towards the house leaving trails with glee

Some little feet – my nephews, heading home for tea!
