Lockdown

#promptuarium #Lockdown #birds

The birds are having a whale of a time

perched as they are on the quay fencing

taking in the rays

of the warm summer sunshine

their only dilemma for today

is when their waiter service is returning

for its great hopping to the waters for take out

but they’re missing their seeds of gold

and some of them have their feathers in a frizz….

word on the bridge is – its down to a bug

point him out they say – we want our feeders back!

Rolling on in

Salford, Monday 4th May

It’s early morning, as i rise

and the street is busy to my surprise

for waking up the chorus (Dawn)

a pussy cat, a little forlorn

He’d spent his time, with his pals last night

playing around under the street lights

but now Ra is up, it has to be said

this furry old cat wants in for his bed

His stomach is full, thanks to a friend on the street

corned beef from a can – a most tasty treat

but his thoughts turned to breakfast, as on street he did play

so off to the garden , he began to make way

And up is his owner, so he’s through the back door

and slowly he goes off to his bed on the floor

so while humans are out, with meetings they keep

our furry old pussycat, is in bed, sound asleep

Waiting

Waiting

DSC_0009.JPG

Canada Geese by Welland Lock, Salford Quays

waiting for the warden to arrive

eyes fixed on a patch of green

and a whole load of swans jumping the dinner queue

Signals are clear

dinner wont be long now

their feathered friends are moving….quickly

Birdsong II

#Napowrimo  #Blogging101 #Birds #Construction

Past the sounds of morning

in a nearby nest

great aviators in waiting

elevate their voice past the turning concrete mixer

on a hope – their mum and dad hear them

never forgetting that

someone has gone to find their breakfast
