Heads or tails

#Socs #toss

Stream of Consciousness Saturday Banner

a piece on a coin toss for #Socs by inky

50:50 – I think that’s what they call it

chances of you picking the right side of the coin

It seems so plausible – there’s only two choices

but like a smaller version of a roulette wheel

the fates are rising and falling

with each turn of the coin in the air

and decisions fall in the victors favour

whether the head sees the skies or ground under foot

Falling

#Writephoto #Cascade

From out of the clouds they come

a torrent of aqueous creatures

lunging towards the destination they

long to be at, following each other

in a race to be the first in the

navy blue waters

going over the edge

I.

The creator dropped his tool again

Turning the clouds a different shade of blue

The Angels sighed – and then

They cried – and their tears

Turned towards the earth below

II.

The raindrops raced to reach the ground

some landed on the ragged rocks

some landed on fragrant fruits

whilst others joined their pals

in a race down the river

III

Rapidly rolling raindrops

Rotating , turning and foaming in

Revolving and lifting formations

Ripping and carving curves through the

Riverbank

IV

Construction – halted

Crafty beavers, otters and water-rats alike

Carefully watch the waters move so

Creation of a new home or dam can

Commence

Waiting for the springtime

17th March 2018

Sat in the toolshed on St Patricks Day

Noting the barometer turned

Over from Frosty to warm

When all of a sudden the mercury goes into

Fast flowing freefall

And white powdery masses

Land like leprechauns

Lightly covering rooftops and cars

Lonely on the bare branch

expecting to fall at any moment

autumn’s arrival – taken its brothers and sisters

fallen and gathered on the grass below

Keeping an eye on the clock

Keeping an eye on the clock

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Finite Creatures.”

The realisation I wasn’t superman…

Could have been when I was five, at my first fall in the school playground

each cut knee – a badge of honour…

Or later in my teenage years when some eedjit pushed me off a wall and I ended up concussed

Or Perhaps when I had my IV shunt replaced to save my life (that was a biggie)

They say a cat has nine lives…this cat has lost three.

So I keep an eye on the clock – Time’s Precious.
