I

They turned up in the middle of the night

and lifted up their paving slabs

before lifting up the tarmac

II

Improvements

to the daily journey

the promises made

III

Signs of Improvement ?

not forthcoming

Big Red Signs lead away from the holes

IV

Short five minutes to the shopping

turns into fifty following the signs

or a week in hospital if you fall down a hole

V

Changes to the road

Chaos for the walker while

Computer networks get faster

Everybody – keep calm

may as it seen – it looks like a giant coming through the wall

every forester knows who it is – its Pan!

reviving the trees and preparing them for autumn

green grasses being pushed up by his fingers

it might come as a shock – but hes a busy guy this time of year

note how the seeds are opening up and falling to

ground ? Thats all down to him

Out of the clouds

#writeclub

Photo by Sourav Mishra on Pexels.com

Out of the clouds

a raindrop fell

he’d hung on to his cloud

for what seemed like forever

but was now heading for

terra firma

falling and tumbling

turning and morphing

at terrific speed

with others following

and catching him up

creating a reservoir down the tarmac street

and circular patterns to the raindrops beat

Falling

#fowc #falling

From a considerable height

an acorn and his chums

launched themselves off a

leafy covered tree

in wait, the local wildlife

now waiting for the fruits of the tree, aided by

gravity

Steps : Image for writephoto by Jemima Pett

Sailing up and down any stairwell – isn’t as easy as you think

Tumbling down stairs is easily done – if you don’t look where you’re going

Even the shortest of steps can make you fall, so attention needs to be made

Position your feet in the right spot – and watch your acceleration

Someone might be coming down as you are going up – take care

Heads or tails

#Socs #toss

Stream of Consciousness Saturday Banner

a piece on a coin toss for #Socs by inky

50:50 – I think that’s what they call it

chances of you picking the right side of the coin

It seems so plausible – there’s only two choices

but like a smaller version of a roulette wheel

the fates are rising and falling

with each turn of the coin in the air

and decisions fall in the victors favour

whether the head sees the skies or ground under foot

Falling

#Writephoto #Cascade

From out of the clouds they come

a torrent of aqueous creatures

lunging towards the destination they

long to be at, following each other

in a race to be the first in the

navy blue waters

going over the edge

I.

The creator dropped his tool again

Turning the clouds a different shade of blue

The Angels sighed – and then

They cried – and their tears

Turned towards the earth below

II.

The raindrops raced to reach the ground

some landed on the ragged rocks

some landed on fragrant fruits

whilst others joined their pals

in a race down the river

III

Rapidly rolling raindrops

Rotating , turning and foaming in

Revolving and lifting formations

Ripping and carving curves through the

Riverbank

IV

Construction – halted

Crafty beavers, otters and water-rats alike

Carefully watch the waters move so

Creation of a new home or dam can

Commence

Waiting for the springtime

17th March 2018

Sat in the toolshed on St Patricks Day

Noting the barometer turned

Over from Frosty to warm

When all of a sudden the mercury goes into

Fast flowing freefall

And white powdery masses

Land like leprechauns

Lightly covering rooftops and cars

Leaf

Lonely on the bare branch

expecting to fall at any moment

autumn’s arrival – taken its brothers and sisters

fallen and gathered on the grass below
