Life through a Lens

#Spectacles #Life #Hydrocephalus #Photography

Distance viewing is a pain for me

It’s why i capture images with my camera

Going from place to place grabbing

Images of locations from

The local park to

Artefacts held in the

Local history library

Perhaps you’d put it down to my specs

holding the key to my blurry eyes –

only – it isn’t

the camera is working fine – the computer isn’t – so

on days when i’m headed out on the

green fields of england , you’ll find a pair of glasses

round my head

aiding my eyes to see things a little bit clearer

putting scenes into a picture and

helping me capture a scene

you might all like

Bird on a wire

#SocS #Wire

Battery operated radio ?

if you have one of these – expect interruptions

right about now there’s a small feathered friend

doing the fandango up and down on the receiver of the signal

outside and if you

notice a crackle or two – its down to that.

Analogue radio seems to pick up the dancing

Waltzing up and down the aerial

if you listen very carefully – you’ll hear the birds

reacting wildly – so

expect to hear a cheep or two through your headphones

A cast of thousands

#fowc #cast #thousands

from an ant trying to save the world

to a familiar mouse in a sorcerers suit

they sit on my bookshelf

awaiting their curtain call

a cast of thousands awaiting

their appearance on a digital stage

Another day, Another Creation

#Art #Photography

I’ve been pulling the images off my Nikon Camera and shoving them through the various programs on my laptop

Metropop

Took this pic of the local tram and put it through Painnt’s randomizer.  Like the ripple effect running through it.

Fruit and Veg…and Odds and Ends

Todays ensemble : Cabbage, Onions (Red and White), Tomato and Carrot

Brain and Spinal Injury Centre, Salford

17th February 2017

…Following last weeks close up food shots, we continued the theme with a heap of vegetables to produce some wonderful still life artwork.  The vegetables were set on a Square slate and against a marble backdrop

No Auto today!  each picture was taken manually – with me setting up angles and close ups of the food stuffs.

Camera used was my able Bridge camera : Sony DSC H-300 with zoom.  Great camera with some wonderful zoom functions.

Close up photography

Location : Brain and Spinal Injury Centre, Salford, Lancashire

Date : 26th October 2016

Todays session of the photography group concentrated on Still life.

It also covered areas of using a zoom lens and tripod.

dsc00533

The above pic was created using a small water fountain, brought in by our marvellous tutor Maggie, a star tripod and my Sony Bridge Camera.

I particularly liked the running water and the shadows in this shot.

dsc00540

I also played around with a seashell using the mermaids backdrop for a covering background.  I like the details of the shells in this one.

DSC00495.JPG

The main task for setting up both of these shots was the set up behind the objects.  this shot shows the distance for some shots requiring the lighting.  In the end, I found perching myself at the short end of the table worked the best in both lighting and end result.DSC00541.JPG

Value

In response to the Daily post Prompt

Value

Funny thing is that word

VALUE

its quite easy to equate it in the mecca of shopping I know as ASDA but my American / Canadian Cousins call – WALMART

I walked round the American Giant that’s landed on its cousins shores

We were looking for a new TV – I’m No good with Measurements so i’ll put it this way

80 DVD Cases long, 5 DVD Cases High

Digital (of Course) , Sky Sockets, USB and High Def Sockets

Funny thing – they were all for a particular three figure model – the Kate Moss / Naomi Campbell / Kate Upton of Televisions…with all the mod cons – Blue-ray, HD, Hi-DEF and all internet connected by the wi-fi – and bigger size than the humble Digital Flatscreen that sat in the corner of the room.

My dad was completely convinced… until I posed a little question

My little sisters brood came into the equation….

“Is it Grandson Proof ?”

The search for a replacement continues…..

————————————————————————–

UPDATE – Dad has his Telly!!!!

Its got all the mod cons he wanted – internet…On demand TV….Universal Remote…

After seeing his decision-making in the store, I’m glad he’s happy with it….
