Making the most of that precious

opportunity, when in the field

out of the last rays of sun, just before

nightfall – Luna makes an appearance

down below her – the children skip and jig

and above them – feathered friends flap excited as

night begins to fall

children will be called in as shades of red turn dark blue, so

enjoy the time in the long grass, they will

Day/Night

#octpowrimo #Day #Night

Sunshine popped up from

Under the horizon – The beginning of a

New day

Snoozing flowers taking a stretch

Helping themselves to a bright spot

In a Moment, new shoots will

Negotiate their way through the soil

Elevating themselves to the clouds

Now when the sun has done his bit

Excitable little luna comes out to play

When its time for little un’s to go to bed

moonlight falling

over areas where the Neon and LEDs cannot

owls flying through the nightsky

navigation aided by the stars and moon

Cloud Animal – Rabbit (Image: Kendrick Mills)

They say the skies are full of animals

from Lions to Rams and Great Bears

you need a telescope

for they appear at night

but some they appear – fluffy and white

clear as day, up in the sky

around the air they fly

You can see them when you walk on the sand of the beach

just above your head – within your eyes reach

popping up to say hello

and with a brisk westerly, away they go.

Just another day in lockdown

#Socs #Day

lights lift on a saturday morning

over in another spot,

creative sportsmen were getting ready for a game

keepers having no distraction as up in the stands there’s no

direction from the fans

of course, they’ll be back

when they say its safe to do do, but for

now, they’ll have to make do with the recorded highlights

The expert

#promptuarium

For centuries, they’ve used the family with

A skill, only a few could master

When called upon, he

Keeps things from blowing up

Exorcising the past he calls it – luckily

Someone knew who his ancestor was

Weekday

Woven tween Tuesday and Thursday

Woden’s Day – named after a saxon god

and a sign – when you wake up

weekend is on its way

Sat on a bench

taking in the last of the sun’s daily allocation of rays

in that moment of time tween day and night

looking out for luna popping out from behind the marshmallows

lighting up the sky as ra dips below the horizon

Boxed

They Call it “Modern Living”

as they rise up to the sky

colourful boxes in formation

thirty or fourty miles high

You would definately call it colourful

You could also call it cosy

You could even call it sardine-like

as you give your neighbours a nosy

Some like the format of it all

as they talk to the neighbours ‘cross the way

but some don’t like the shadows

its night in the middle of the day

Balconies round a patch of green

which after sundown, isn’t often seen

watching the clouds pass in the sky

and seeing the odd bird fly by

Rolling on in

Salford, Monday 4th May

It’s early morning, as i rise

and the street is busy to my surprise

for waking up the chorus (Dawn)

a pussy cat, a little forlorn

He’d spent his time, with his pals last night

playing around under the street lights

but now Ra is up, it has to be said

this furry old cat wants in for his bed

His stomach is full, thanks to a friend on the street

corned beef from a can – a most tasty treat

but his thoughts turned to breakfast, as on street he did play

so off to the garden , he began to make way

And up is his owner, so he’s through the back door

and slowly he goes off to his bed on the floor

so while humans are out, with meetings they keep

our furry old pussycat, is in bed, sound asleep
