Can you hear the sleigh bells yet ?

Salford, 28th November 2020

I’m not feeling particularly festive at present.

Its Dark and cold outside, as the last of November’s nights draw in

and yes, that means, the run to the festive season has already started

Tomorrow – is “Advent Sunday”, and i’m guessing the advent calendars will be on the walls of every kid in the neighbourhood.

Of course, things are slightly different with a health lockdown in place.

They’ll be lighting the first of the Advent candles at church, but we’ll all be watching from the safety of our computer screens.

I just hope, we’ll either see little blister and the nephews in and around the lifting of lockdown, or we’ll have a “Spring Christmas” when it’s safe to do so.

Perhaps , its the lack of Tinsel and a Tree in the Front Room that’s causing my spot of melancholy…..

<HEX> HEY! – I WANNA SEE THE HOGFATHER!!!!

Indigo

Indigo paint powder – image from wikipedia

#cyw #indigo

It’s a colour known for its position on the rainbow

nestled between its brother , blue and its sister, violet

definately making a statement on the home furnishings front

in fabrics, curtains, sofas and carpets

garments too – brought to life by this deep dark purply blue

only – don’t call it blue – its got its own character

Cerulean

A Wave - Cerulean Blue Colour

It’s that colour you see far off

when you’re sat on the beach

looking at the horizon

and you’re looking at the water far away

Could it be that colour that

entered the sky when the

roundness of the sun

ups and leaves the sky

leaving it darker with only

earths moon in the sky to provide

a light on the ground below ?

new moons shine on this colours curtain

Cats eyes

Salford, 9th April 2019

I never really got those markers in the road

why they called them after the pupils of my favourite feline

they followed each other from a to b

leading motorists in the dark

as their eyes lit up

they reminded me of turtles

out in a warmer sea

encased in a hardened case like shell

and saying “hello!” to me

COLD NIGHTS

Sunday 25 November 2018

It might seem a bit funny – but I’m starting to miss the warm weather

the sun and its friend,  mercury seem to have beaten a retreat

nights are drawing in, and furthermore – so is the cold

looking out of the window, it doesn’t even look like night

but the sun has taken its leave – and outside its not bright

perhaps i should have appreciated it when it was in town

when people were sat on the beach – getting brown

For now , i’m not sat by the beach

The warmth has gone – its out of reach

So i’ll sit by the heater with reading planned

and a Mug of hot cocoa – ee thats grand!
