When the deciduous trees decide to lose their leaves
six legged creatures try their best to find somewhere warm
scurrying quickly over gravel and soil
and leaving a trail over branches that coil
sometimes hanging around the garden shed
or inside a cupboard that’s darkened instead

Saturday morning, and I’m pondering the next shade of colour in fees fun foto challenge
now you say lime green to me, and my artistic thoughts go directly to the fruit bowl
But limes nowadays seem much darker in tone than what I’d normally associate them with….you would have to split them open to get the colour you were looking for
But a quick scan of the kitchen cupboards soon reveals this light green colour. In a packet of custard, or perhaps pasta or even strawberry jelly (strange but true). For the doubters it’s the one in the green packet…
lime jelly ? An acquired taste.
and outside in the garden, the trees have more of a lime green colour to them than the actual shade of a dark green lime
look again… and the outside of the lime is hiding in plain sight…

an acrostic from inkdrop
from a prompt from the imaginarium
sometimes I wonder why they’re there
popping up from out of the garden and setting up in the kitchen
i get the idea, these six legged fellows don’t like the cold…
desperate, they’ll weave their webs in hidden spaces, like
every cubby hole or stair cupboard
Resident, until cleared out with a head of a brush
Some call him a shadowy figure
If you look at the wall carefully enough and
Look, you may just recognise him
He definitely has a definable shape
Of course – you would have a problem catching the real him
Unless you find the door or window that’s casting his form
Even then – he may be standing far away
The Moon casting his form on the wall
Take a look behind you – there’s nobody there – he’s
Exited the room under cover of darkness
you could call it crisp
its definitely dark
stars in the sky night twinkle and spark
out in the distant carpet called space
each cluster of stars don’t seem out of place
and standing like statues,
they watch as snow falls
creating their flurries that land soft but tall

To start with, here’s a night time shot of the Holiday inn express on Salford’s Quayside, taken at Dusk by one of the Docks or as the people call them now basins 🙂
You could call this a 3D shot – as it was Dark as well !
The canal is pretty Deep, and joins up to the river irwell and mersey
The Ducks of Oludeniz – taking cover from the sun
This shot was taken during a family holiday to the Turkish Resort of Oludeniz. The beach was teaming with wildlife, maybe down to the hordes of fish that sat in the clear blue waters by the sand. The Ducks raised a smile as they waddled about in the sea.

Maybe its the colour of the night sky itself
Its only when the sun goes to bed – does it appear
Dozens , no thousands of stars peppering the dark blue
Night after Night, showing planets and constellations
Inky coloured skies, occasionally diffused by sodium lights below
Great gods from Aries to Orion , telling tales in the sky
Heavens Above! It’s a great sight to watch
The constellations moving in the night sky.

Found in the darker parts of a garden
each little green leaf, enjoys the shade
reciprocating the deed for wildlife and toadstools alike
nature’s protection from a spring shower.

He’s there by day (and sometimes at night),
Follows round me like a puppy – but doesn’t bite.
On Night streets, he’s home before I reach gate,
arrives in the morning, he’s never late.
I see him on Curtains, on walls and on doors
in front of me on lawns and pavements and floors
He bends around hallways, and up and down stairs
and sometimes, he catches people unawares…
See, depending on time of day, and the sun,
my shadow and I can have some great fun.
As the sun rises up, he grows from my feet…
and you can see him quite clearly – right down th’ street.
But, the thing is, and here’s where I’ll give thee some news
My shadow isn’t really attached to my shoes.
So, at Night time – he disappears – when I’m resting my head
and reappears quickly when I get out of bed!
Eerie, by Brian F Kirkham
The most frightening thing about Halloween – Nothing’s going on!
No cars moving down main street
No children around saying “Trick or Treat”
Not a sound of a Movement in the midnight air
Look out of the window – there’s nobody there
but floating through air – the willow-the-wisp
telling tales of fairies in the sky cold and crisp
followed by friends of the cold dark wood
and you cant hear them sing – even though you should
the eeriest thing this whole Halloween
the most lifeless street that you’ve ever seen
