Ambitions stalled in an instant by the

Appalling addition of a red ink splodge

Added by the committee secretary

All the work and effort have disappeared

A Moment of madness to your supporters

Many need one , a person to

Elecute an idea as you’re

Navigating your own path

Through a new job, or course

Of course – they’ve been through the process themselves

Roads experienced – so they’ll guide you round the obstacles

Vague

Vague

Theres no light in those eyes

all those hopes and dreams faded ,

some months after you signed up

keys to the castle…bought

but as you sit

listening to the lecturer

on the stage of the theatre

what you thought was gold has turned to lead

now you only have a tiny idea of why you’re there

Crossroads

Salford 12th February 2018

Crossroads

Coming to a big decision is

Really down to you

Of course, you have the choices laid out for you

Smorgasbord of things to do , and places to go

Some helpful advice from teachers, academics and of course, family

Reactions from friends – expected – they might be sad but

Over time – they’ll respect your decision

After you’ve weighed up all the advice

Dont panic – and

Somehow you’ll go down the right path

Disappointment

Disappointment

Dejection

in the content of the

students envelope

as predicted grades vs

positive results hadn’t panned out as they thought

on the whole though – they didn’t fail

If they head for the the sixth-form – they’ll probably pass

Next time.  dreams of higher things will have to wait

Till next time

Maybe a new opportunity will show itself

Even a subject they really wanted to take – and the

New opportunity might provide avenues

That they never thought of studying.

Hidden Message

Scent

Sweet floral fragrance –

Captured in a bottle ,

and Released in the ballroom

At the high school dance.

In a matter of seconds

A million ingredients

travel with a message from girl to boy

“Have I got your attention yet ?”

Silence

silence

In the dusty old
Deserted library hall
The wishes of the librarian
Have finally come to fruition

For there is nobody reading
By the library desks
They’re all in the I.t. Suite
Reading set texts on the web

So librarian has his wish
And the books sit on wooden shelves
Like revered benedictines
Sat in lines in silence.
