Challenge 30 – No. 30 – Texture

“Taking the rough with the smooth”

Raised impressions of copper coins

Out of the Aquarium, smooth glass beads fool the fish

Under the fingers, some textures provide something to hold on to

gritty sand , much like the coastal rock it came from and

Home to a variety of creatures, whose armour mirror their own.

“Vintage”

#Challenge30 #old #Priceless

Art deco box – “Vintage”

You can put a value on anything

but to most people family heirlooms are priceless

Things handed down belonging to a loved one that’s passed

Items with stories, tales and memories

Character ? certainly Age ? Definately

Its not the age of the item – its the story it tells

even if it can’t speak – it’s timeless quality speaks for it

“Depth”

Down among the depths, taken at the Sea life centre, Old Trafford, Manchester

Deep down on the sea bed

Eager crustaceans

Play cat and mouse with

The fishermen up above them, and

Hoping they avoid the fishermans traps as they

Scurry along the sandy sea bed

A Striped Tale…..or is that a Tail ?

What’s Black and white and Red all over ? a sunburnt Zebra! (sic)

When ever I think about an animal with Stripes, I always think about two particular animals….the tiger and the zebra

The tiger is Orange and Black (or is that black and orange ?) whilst the Zebra is Black and White (or is that white and black?). Both hide in the Undergrowth for protection using this camouflage

Now while I’ve only ever seen these two animals at the Zoo, there is a stripey animal who is quite happy to be living around you and I. I am referring to your tabby variety of pussy cat

Just remember to treat it right – or its ancestral character will come right out!

The Clock moves forward

The Analogue clock

It’s so simple in it’s operation

Moving seconds to minutes, and Minutes to hours

Each second passing into the annals of history

“Move the Camera”

Looking One Way….

And then the other

Its funny how a couple of steps, or a turn of the body can change the view of what you are capturing.

I was stood by the pontoon of the watersports centre on Salford Quays, when the Canada Geese came up the centenary walkway for their elevenses.

In they came one after the other, heading for a grassy spot by the pontoon where a water bailiff had generously left some bird food across it. They all ate like royalty, and then waddled back down the walkway to the watersports centre, where they hopped in and out of the canal basins

“Breaking the rule of thirds”

a thought from inky.

Cherry Blossom in Flower, Sitting by Metrolink Line

Just because there’s rules – doesn’t mean i have to follow them all the time

The Tree was Just asking to have its photo taken

even if it was sitting in the wrong spot

I couldn’t uproot it – so i just took the picture

So much could have gone wrong – a gust of wind, a moving tram, a busted ankle

but in the end – i got a result – a lovely pic of the Cherry Tree

“Patterns”

Patterns in the hologram

As i moved the card to take its picture

Was it the fragments dancing on the surface

or the collision of shapes

creating a carousel of colour

as the rainbow flew by ?

Behind the scenes

1st February 2019

A couple of Shots from the Lens of my Nikon Camera

The First shot – taken at IWM Duxford, in Cambridgeshire, Taken from under the wing of a Lancaster Bomber.

The Second Shot….setup of experimental shots with BASIC Clicks, capturing Water Movement. This shot was a bit of a group effort, as each part of the shot from pouring the water to setting up the deflector took 1 person each in its creation

“Eyecatching”

Roses to Catch the eye….by Brian F Kirkham

They say Diamonds are a girls best friend
but a floral bouquet always catches her eye
brightly coloured tokens
from a friend or significant other
always brings a smile
if not the tongues wagging in the office
