#Discover Prompts #Food #Dish

6th April 2020

While i was busy sketching away

in the kitchen, dad was busy

zipping around with tomatoes and beef

and carrots and onion, creating a wonderful dish, based

round the pasta shells that were

dancing away in boiling water, and a little olive oil

Spaghetti

Salford 3rd February 2020

#food #acrostic #spaghetti #bolognaise

Spaghetti : Image from stock art created by Inky Using Painter Essentials 7

Sent headlong into the boiling water

Pasta long and thin took a bit of a hot bath

As it did, the concoction it was being served with

Gradually came together, as minced beef met up in a

Hot tomato jacuzzi with onion , carrot and mushroom

Eventually,

Turned out onto plates and sauce and pasta

Twirled together round a trident aided by a spoon

Italian cuisine turned out on Mancunian plates

Root

#fowc #root

Root Vegetable (Parsnip) , (P) by inky from stock art

the source of the plant

grown from the seed

fed from the soil

Out of Sight

Unseen by most

till dug by the gardener

keeping those flowers

in perfect bloom

all the way to autumn

Special roots – Cleaned

and cooked in the oven

are tasty in stews

Edible Garnish

for the Sunday Roast,

sweet, juicy, tasty

Raw

Six Raw Carrots on a Blue Cloth
Six Raw Carrots (image by inky)

#Fowc #Raw

Really – eating some things just taken out of the ground ?

Avoid doing it at all cost…even carrots need a

Wash before you start eating them

Reality is – not cooking them – keeps the nutrients

And also the Vitamins and Minerals

While they might taste nicer cooked – they’re better this way

Root Vegetables, need a little preparation

And fruit from the tree can just be picked while ripe

While meat and fish – need some attention from the chef

Trickery

In response to Fandango’s one word challenge

You knew your nephew wouldn’t eat his greens

every mealtime saw a trip to the bin

but appreciating his happy sweet tooth

you snook something into pudding unseen

and eating with the custard you did grin

as he ate up his carrots with a great big smile

hidden in the sponge cake with sultanas between

and wouldn’t complain about veg – for a while

Bubble and Squeak

Salford, 29th December 2017

I knew it was coming – the creation of a masterpiece.

something from the remains of the Christmas feast – to warm everybody up

chef using concoctions to heighten the flavour of the dish

in first went the potatoes (roast and boiled), and then the onion – accompanied by a drop of oil.

then went the parnsip, turnip and swede.  followed by the carrots

the meat from the leftovers cubed and joined in the heat by a stock cube

and as you listened to the pan – the contents started to bubble

half way there – and with the turn of the veg – it started to speak

squeaking away with a sizzle

Chicken Soup (Panacea)

Perhaps you say, it could have magical properties

as the recipe has been passed down the generations for years

notably, it reaches parts your chemists cold cures dont

and it’s tasty to the person that’s eating it

changes to little things like seasonings, are expected through time but

everybody knows the core of chicken, onion and carrot

and mum and dad know – they’ll have empty bowls and seconds asked for

Several chopped carrots danced around

In the silver saucepan as they

Mingled and merged with Vegetable Stock, Onions and Herbs to

Make a most delicious soup, served up that afternoon

Exactly what the doctor ordered – Summat

Starting off with a Colourful one, taken at a session of the photography group Basic Clicks – Six Colourful Carrots on Blue Canvas!

DSC01315

here’s a couple of interesting Cutlery pieces – the first is of four forks against a wall,  – i liked the shadows created in this pic.

Combination of ideas here, with a twist – Spirals of Cutlery , set on canvas.

Still life shot of various vegetables set out on a slate Cheeseboard, some onions (white and red), a tomato, a cut Cabbage and the return of one of those Carrots we saw earlier

Trafford_Rd_Swing_Bridge.JPG

Now fellow wordpressors might have seen this one before, but as its cees photochallenge, i thought i’d put it on here – not for the wonderful bridge (that’s the wrong letter folks!!!) but for those fluffy white marshmallow clouds , over looking the quayside at Salford, attached to the Manchester ship Canal.

Blue flower

Last but not least, here’s a close up of a cornflower – i like this one because of the colour!
