Orange Juice

#Morning #Breakfast

Fresh from the brightest fruit on the tree

and bright as the sun it absorbed

Nature’s dose of energy for the morning

no additives required

Slightly nippy from its time in the fridge

but maintaining its zesty zing

wake up call for the taste buds

as vitamin C comes calling

Vivid Fruit

#vividtangerine #cyw

Photo by Any Lane on Pexels.com

Set among the apples , damsons and lemons

there’s always one fruit the children are drawn to

brightly coloured, and fitted easily in the hand

lots of little segments to enjoy in

a schooltime break

Moon III

#Napowrimo #Day17

Many say its like a cueball

only its pits and furrows are a bit more noted

one thing about the moon – you can

notice the craters – they give the moon its face

Moments occur – when it seems

our moon changes its shape

one moment its shiny like a sixpence

next moment its down to its crescent

Moments of Magic come

out when the moons face is fullest

or when its crescent shaped

night time seems brighter when this happens

Scarlet

#cyw #scarlet #Reds

Sat perched outside in the garden, it was

Clear to most of the nested tenants – you were new

As with your bright red feathers – you

Really attracted attention, from felines and twitchers alike

Luckily for you, your new home is much like your old

Elevated and lofty, and out of

The reach of the most determined cat

Taste

I

Bitter, Salty, Sweet or Sour

Sensations landing on your tastebuds

What is that wonderful fruity flavour

It’s on the tip of your tongue

but you haven’t said it yet

II

Raspberry Jacket and Banana Shirt

with trousers and shoes to match

maybe it’s the height of fashion in the magazines

certainly makes you talk of the town on the shopping run

III

Country or Town

Suburbia or out in the sticks?

Cottage, Terrace, Mansion or Shed ?

Choice of Home – is down to you

but it’s not everybody’s cup of tea

Clear

Salford, 23rd January 2020

#fowc #clear

Cloudy skies today ? hardly

light from the sun falls down like raindrops

even the sky is a wonderful shade of blue

a warm and bright day

ready for a picnic ? we’re headed for the park

Shadow V.3

#FOWC #Shadow

A response by inky to Fandango’s One word challenge

Sunshine’s monochrome friend

Heavens Universal to animal, bird, reptile and human

As the sun shines its beams – it appears on the floor

Disappearing when the clouds cover it up

Of course – they disappear

When the sun goes behind – reappearing on a bright moon

Creating a buzz

4th September 2018

#Beeinthecity #Manchester #Buzz

A poem in honour of those colourful bees currently nesting in my city

The hive will be in Gtr Manchester till 23rd September – it’s well worth a visit.

(for those who haven’t read my #beeinthecity posts – they’re artworks!)

DSC_0197
Banks-B , #Beeinthecity on Manchester’s Market Street

The hive arrived
Home for some bees
With artistic flair

Swarming around
City streets, with a
Hint of colour

Covering the sights
Of the county
North to south

Bringing smiles
From Salford’s quayside
To Manchester’s airport

Radiant

Radiant

Salford, 2nd April 2018

Candle

Radiant in the dawn of sunset

a candle lights the darkness

dim at first, but getting brighter

illuminating the building with its brothers and sisters

as power goes – it gives a torch a run for its money

not to mention the electricity grid

the fuses die ? – out comes the candles
