Brick

Brick

dsc00629

If it could speak – it could say so much

forged in a fire – with a merry old band

laid together in a wall, by architects planned

travelling by lorries and sometimes by crane

protector from elements – wind and the rain

together – in union – from pressures you wont fall

unless it from dynamite or a big wrecking ball.

The Last Domino

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Careful.”

In an attempt to create

a storm of a record

thousands of bricks stood solemn

on parade side by side

as the last brick – golden

is put into its place

workers strain – shown on face

sweat spot forming on brow

message to worker – “Careful Now”
