Challenge 30 – No6

A Snails eye view’

#photography #closeup #abstract

“You are a noisy mollusc….” Dougal the Dog to Brian the Snail – Magic Roundabout

This was a toughie when working on #challenge30, I mean – how do you get a snails eye view ?

You would have to be a snail wouldn’t you?

I let my imaginary snail loose around the house – where he found, in the kitchen, ready to be recycled this glass bottle – with the contents consumed it made a nice mirror for him to look in…(chortle)

Camera engaged for this one, my Sony DSC H300 – Great for close ups like this, the beading on the bottom of the glass look like beads…

Message in a bottle – 2

Salford, 21st July 2017

Remember that piece I wrote about the message washed up in a bottle ?  I’ve given it a little thought and wrote what might have been on that rolled up paper!

Messageinbottle

Sat, as I am
on this deserted isle

I’m sending this message
to make someone smile

Being stuck on this island
isn’t much fun

even though theres blue skies
and lots of sun

so I’ve drawn you a map
and hope you might see

to send out a crew
to rescue me!

Message in a bottle

Bottle

Messageinbottle

The green glass container

landed with a bump on the sands

The sea, tired of its presence

No fine wine or olive oil here

but something more precious

a message for someone special

Sent in hope than anticipation

dropped into blue waters

floating off towards land

Time remains – and Questions Unanswered

Did message reach intended target ?

Or is he (or she) ? combing the shore ?

Bottle

Bottle

Behind every cordial known to kids

On the Supermarket shelf

The humble glass bottle – A marvel of invention

Take it off the shelf – consume the fruity contents – and return as soon as possible

Lots of kids lined up outside the newsagents

Expecting a shiny silver coin for “Takin’ the bockles back”

Reminiscence of a Muse

They say poetry can sometimes come from tragedy

A Silver winning poem by me from the pages of Allpoetry.com

The poet picked up
the photo from the floor
it left an impression

Pressed down in the ground
by an empty bottle of Merlot
encased in finest green

Work of perfection,
destroyed in a moment
by the Artist’s hand

Angelic Form in pastel pink
now sullied in vermillion red
where did she travel to ?

Disappeared out of Sight,
Artists darkened thoughts bright
Across canvass

Phone Call to friend…
Despair down line sends
Ambulance round bend.
