#Writeclub #Slampoetry

Todays attempt at slam poetry, created in the on-line session of #writeclub

Passing down the road,
he seemed such a gent,
and then – passing a bin – a deliberate act,
created reactions – obvious fact –
off to the match, with his fish and chips –
as soon as the last whole chip passed his lips –
falling to the floor a greasy mass –
merely a foot from a bin by the grass –
walked away briskly, to get to the game
leaving leftover bits to the neighbours shame
expectation – their thought – you would aid their cause –
so he’d get to the game early – mate, don’t expect applause….

Outline

A draft of idea

getting what you want on paper

without going into any great detail

the first bone of a skeleton

that forms over time

will it end up on the gallery wall ?

time will tell

but the recepticle by your right hand side

is ready to receive it should you change your mind

Refuse

Salford, 22nd January 2020

#fowc #refuse

Two definitions for this word fandango’s provided – so I cobbled them together in this

feel free to comment.

Recycling Refuse!

Refusing to recycle your rubbish ?

expect a spot of bother

for if you don’t follow the bin men’s advice

until you do so, the bin will just

sit there – full to the brim of stuff that should be turned into something else

expect an extra invoice when they send a bigger rubbish truck!

In Flight

Salford 26th August 2017

Seagulls in Flight, Charcoal drawing in Painter by Inky

The aviators are circling again

looking for a suitable place to rest

whilst the sun is high in a northern sky

Gliding from roof to roof

checking out the pickings

in lined up gardens

Unafraid and Unabashed

to businesses back yards they’ll pip

for some chucked out fish (or stray chips)

Or land in someones home back yard

looking in food bins for some fish from a tin

or filleted bones that’s been left there in

The Binanimal

A tale of a very hungry bin

Mother admired the
Relative speed of the team
Of waste disposal

Every third day
The bin would empty
With surprising speed

Till one morning
The refuse van
Sat solitary, outside gate

The bin Sat content
On the tarmac pavement
With apparent glee

Could it be
The bin man became
The receptacles tea?
