Sometimes my mind goes wondering
Bright shiny things distract it
And it goes off on a wonder
It’s like a little puppy dog 🐶
And like every small animal
Dog cat or bird…it needs training
So I do my best, to keep its eye
Instead of letting it fly high in the sky
Breaking tasks into manageable things
Before it wonders off and spreads its wings

Over the last few days i’ve been taking part in a photographic challenge
#challenge30 involved taking pictures with my trusty second hand Nikon DSLR camera on thirty subjects – each with their own unique title.
i particularly enjoyed taking photos from an abstract view, changing simple items into something else.
The pictures have been stored on a gallery on flickr’s website and you’ll find them here
A photographic challenge from the guys and girls at @BASIC
the brain and spinal injury charity in Salford
I begin with a familiar one – regular readers might recognise this – its the cuppa Jars next to the family kettle in the kitchen
A wicket – three stumps

A couple of photos taken from sessions at BASIC Clicks, the photography group i belong to at the Brain and Spinal injury centre in Salford
for starters – here’s the Jaguar .
And here’s some pics of some Jam (Raspberry) and Lemon curd, common thread ? all items were photographed at BASIC. The Jams were made at Food for Thought, BASICs Cafe – they’re tasty on a piece of toast or a crumpet!

Hidden away among a mountain of leaves
the humble blackberry grows on its branch
biding its time till a meeting awaits
when it drops down into a sugary pool
and parties with its pals
no selfies needed here – they’re all jammin’
A Simple leaf , on the tarmac and gravel of the car park of #BASIC, the brain and spinal injury centre in Salford.
Fallen by the wind, or the passing of time with the coming of autumn, this humble leaf gave me another chance to create something special.
Been messing around with the monochrome as i continue in the quest to master my new camera. i like this image because of the silvery veins came popping out – all from the press of a button of my new camera.

Poem borrowed from my page at Allpoetry.com
A tale a bit crafty, a bit religious, but all by me
Artwork created at Craft Sessions at Brain & Spinal Injury Charity in Salford.
As the Sun comes up,
its light shines through
the panels of coloured glass
angling the now coloured light
painting a picture,
of scenes on a floor
And as the sun shines,
through that brightly coloured window
reds cast with yellows
and greens cast with blues
as molten lead holds on tightly,
keeping the picture alive

A Tangerine for Elevenses
When they are around, when i’m heading for BASIC I always take a Tangerine (or two)with me for the break period during the photography class. I like fruit, but Tangerines more, because of the way they fit in the hand and are easy to Peel!
They are also less messy than another of my Favourites , Oranges…(see below)
Three of my Favourite Fruits
I like oranges, particularly the juice. But also sliced up and served with a dash of sugar.
Apples are great any time of the year, but if I had to pick a favourite I prefer green to red
When the greengrocer can get them, I also enjoy Kiwi fruit – you cant eat the skin but this fuzzy haired fruit has a really lovely taste
They say you should have five a day – but the fruit is nice any time of the day.Another fruit I enjoy are Bananas. Any time of the Day. either as part of Breakfast, or as a pudding after lunch or tea….Normally seen eaten by me tween two slices of Warburton’s Wholemeal – with or without the addition of chocolate spread 🙂
Also nice covered in custard, or in a cake – or a mix of the two 🙂 Apologies for the last pic not being here – I scoffed the evidence (Hee Hee!)

We were back in the base camp of BASIC Clicks photography group on Friday creating scenes with backgrounds, toy cars and figures
taking every day items and creating something new, from behind the camera lens.
Another show at BASICs sponsor, John Lewis will be on display soon.
Here’s some of my favourites from Fridays session. Created with the trusty Sony Bridge camera.
