Waiting for the ferry

#wdys

Something strange in

these sun covered streets,

there’s no one around but the locals

the medicine man said stay at home

so in centrally heated houses

they stay

away from the sun covered shores

the artworks and postcards

sit solitary

while cafe sombreros

swing in the soft summer breeze

with no one to hear the tower clock

but the shopkeepers

Open once more

#Museums

The exhibits are rising

out on the floor – something is moving

movement of visitors feet going round the space

making a beeline for historic items and artwork

out on display – just waiting to be seen

reactions – muted behind a mask – but

out on the museum floor – they’re just happy to see the visitors again

when will be back to normal they ask – some couldn’t say – but now you need a ticket.

Brush

#SoCS #Brush

Stream of Consciousness Saturday Banner

Bringing a touch of colour to the paper

Reds through to violet as it passes through the brilliant white

Upmost care taken – not to cross any of the bands

Should they seep into the colour next door

Hairs of the brush given a good soak after the artwork’s complete

Creating a buzz

4th September 2018

#Beeinthecity #Manchester #Buzz

A poem in honour of those colourful bees currently nesting in my city

The hive will be in Gtr Manchester till 23rd September – it’s well worth a visit.

(for those who haven’t read my #beeinthecity posts – they’re artworks!)

Banks-B , #Beeinthecity on Manchester’s Market Street

The hive arrived
Home for some bees
With artistic flair

Swarming around
City streets, with a
Hint of colour

Covering the sights
Of the county
North to south

Bringing smiles
From Salford’s quayside
To Manchester’s airport
